Members of the Del Rey Residents Association join Neighbors at the Inglewood Blvd./90 Freeway to protest dangerous encampments.
More than thirty local neighbors marched with signs and bull horns on Saturday March 29 to protest the lack of enforcement by government agencies in preventing dangerous encampments on Inglewood Boulevard at the 90 Freeway underpass.
Camps, RVs and shanties near the freeway and the high-pressure petroleum pipeline zone have created community safety concerns that have not been addressed by Los Angeles City and other government agencies. Potential damage to these pipelines could put the adjacent Del Rey neighborhood homes at risk of fires and personal injury to residents.
Members of the DRRA joined our neighbors on Saturday, March 29th supporting their protest of lack of enforcement L.A. City ordinances regulating use of vehicles for dwelling, sleeping and storage of belongings in the public right-of-ways, and obstructing streets or sidewalks with personal property. LAPD personnel were on hand to provide safety and traffic control during the peaceful protest.
