Del Rey Day 2025 Recap

In the words of Eddie Kurtz, first VP...

We started at 10:30 AM with Ghassan helping load Eddie's truck with the DRRA canopy and materials, then unloading at the Rosendhal Del Rey Park. Ava helped set up the table and manned it with Ghassan and I. Terrie then came with her granddaughter, Haley.

Elizabeth P and Zambricki then helped relieve us. From the stage at 1:00 PM, Zambricki gave a fantastic intro and background about the DRRA, and announced Vivian Jojola as the first raffle winner of the “Emergency Preparedness Bucket.

Edwina and Sandy then took their turns manning our booth, with Sandy taking a break to get some free pizza and Edwina using her emergency supplies to fix up a little boy who had gotten scratch up in the “bouncy house”. Sharon later stopped by with her husband.

Elizabeth, our President, and Julia, our new Treasurer, filled out the afternoon, helping to get more sign-ups from those interested in the DRRA. We had our second raffle drawing and the afternoon EP Bucket winner was Mitchell Chang. Sara then lined us up in front of our booth for a DRRA picture.

With the day over, Elizabeth L and Julia help take down our booth and load my truck back up.

All-in-all it not only was a fun day, but also worthwhile. We collected 24 names interested in the DRRA, handed out 10 DRRA Membership Applications, and gave away all our bags of Halloween pretzels.

Thanks to the Del Rey Neighborhood Council for organizing this great event for our Community. And, thanks again to our colleagues who came out to help make our DRRA booth a success.
